Common Name5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-2-{3-methoxy-4-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]phenyl}-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one
DescriptionEriodictyol 7,3'-dimethyl ether 4'-prenyl ether belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, eriodictyol 7,3'-dimethyl ether 4'-prenyl ether is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-2-{3-methoxy-4-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]phenyl}-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Melicope durifolia. Eriodictyol 7,3'-dimethyl ether 4'-prenyl ether is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
