Description(Z)-3-butylidene-7-hydroxyphthalide, also known as 7-hydroxy-3-butylidenephthalide or senkyunolide b, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as isobenzofuranones. Isobenzofuranones are compounds containing a 2-benzofuran moiety that carries an oxo group at the 1 position. senkyunolide b is found in Angelica sinensis, Cnidium officinale, Levisticum officinale, Ligusticum jeholense and Ligusticum sinense. senkyunolide b was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 16132135). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (Z)-3-butylidene-7-hydroxyphthalide (PMID: 21823452).
