Description2-[5-Methyl-6-(3,5,7,13-tetrahydroxy-4,6,12,14,16-pentamethylnonadeca-10,14-dien-2-yl)oxan-2-yl]propanoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. 2-[5-methyl-6-(3,5,7,13-tetrahydroxy-4,6,12,14,16-pentamethylnonadeca-10,14-dien-2-yl)oxan-2-yl]propanoic acid is found in Streptomyces griseus. 2-[5-Methyl-6-(3,5,7,13-tetrahydroxy-4,6,12,14,16-pentamethylnonadeca-10,14-dien-2-yl)oxan-2-yl]propanoic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
