Oxepanes are compounds containing an oxepane ring, which is a seven-member saturated aliphatic heterocycle with one oxygen and six carbon atoms. 5,13-dihydroxy-2,6,10-trimethyl-11-oxo-8-oxatetracyclo[7.3.1.0¹,⁵.0⁶,¹⁰]tridecan-9-yl 2-methylcyclopent-1-ene-1-carboxylate is found in Illicium verum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5,13-dihydroxy-2,6,10-trimethyl-11-oxo-8-oxatetracyclo[7.3.1.0¹,⁵.0⁶,¹⁰]Tridecan-9-yl 2-methylcyclopent-1-ene-1-carboxylate.
