Description(2E)-4-[(3E,3aS,5aR,6S,7R,9aR,9bS)-7-hydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3a,6,9a-trimethyl-2-oxo-dodecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalen-3-ylidene]pent-2-enal belongs to the class of organic compounds known as monoterpenoids. Monoterpenoids are compounds containing a chain of two isoprene units. (2e)-4-[(3e,3as,5ar,6s,7r,9ar,9bs)-7-hydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3a,6,9a-trimethyl-2-oxo-octahydrocyclopenta[a]naphthalen-3-ylidene]pent-2-enal is found in Rhabdastrella globostellata. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2E)-4-[(3E,3aS,5aR,6S,7R,9aR,9bS)-7-hydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3a,6,9a-trimethyl-2-oxo-dodecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalen-3-ylidene]pent-2-enal.
