DescriptionAll-trans-octaprenol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as polyprenols. These are prenols with more than 4 consecutive isoprene units. (2e,6e,10e,14e,18e,22e,26e)-3,7,11,15,19,23,27,31-octamethyldotriaconta-2,6,10,14,18,22,26,30-octaen-1-ol is found in Ononis natrix. (2e,6e,10e,14e,18e,22e,26e)-3,7,11,15,19,23,27,31-octamethyldotriaconta-2,6,10,14,18,22,26,30-octaen-1-ol was first documented in 1971 (PMID: 4942305). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on all-trans-octaprenol (PMID: 3519600) (PMID: 8830051).
