| Common Name | 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5-dihydroxy-7-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]methyl}oxan-2-yl)oxy]chromen-4-one |

| Description | Quercetin 7-rutinoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. Quercetin 7-rutinoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Quercetin 7-rutinoside has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5-dihydroxy-7-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]methyl}oxan-2-yl)oxy]chromen-4-one is found in Abies nephrolepis and Lycopus europaeus. This could make quercetin 7-rutinoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
