| Description | Scutalpin O belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furofurans. These are organic compounds containing a two furan rings fused to each other. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. (1r,4ar,5s,6r,8s,8ar)-5-[(2s,3as,6ar)-5-hydroxy-hexahydrofuro[2,3-b]furan-2-yl]-8-(acetyloxy)-5,6-dimethyl-hexahydro-2h-spiro[naphthalene-1,2'-oxiran]-8a-ylmethyl 2-methylpropanoate is found in Scutellaria alpina. (1r,4ar,5s,6r,8s,8ar)-5-[(2s,3as,6ar)-5-hydroxy-hexahydrofuro[2,3-b]furan-2-yl]-8-(acetyloxy)-5,6-dimethyl-hexahydro-2h-spiro[naphthalene-1,2'-oxiran]-8a-ylmethyl 2-methylpropanoate was first documented in 2000 (PMID: 10924196). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Scutalpin O. |
