These are iridoid monoterpenes containing a glycosyl (usually a pyranosyl) moiety linked to the iridoid skeleton. 2-{[5-ethoxy-7-(hydroxymethyl)-1h,4ah,5h,7ah-cyclopenta[c]pyran-1-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Pedicularis rex. 2-{[5-Ethoxy-7-(hydroxymethyl)-1H,4aH,5H,7aH-cyclopenta[c]pyran-1-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
