These are quinoline alkaloids containing the dibenzo[de,g]quinoline ring system or a dehydrogenated derivative thereof. 5-{4-[(6,7-dimethoxy-2-methyl-3,4-dihydro-1h-isoquinolin-1-yl)methyl]phenoxy}-15-methoxy-10-methyl-10-azatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]heptadeca-1(16),2(7),3,5,13(17),14-hexaene-4,16-diol is found in Berberis orthobotrys and Berberis sibirica. 5-{4-[(6,7-Dimethoxy-2-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-1-yl)methyl]phenoxy}-15-methoxy-10-methyl-10-azatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]Heptadeca-1(17),2,4,6,13,15-hexaene-4,16-diol is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). |
