DescriptionSumogaside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpene glycosides. These are diterpenoids in which an isoprene unit is glycosylated. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl (1r,4ar,7s,8as,10as)-7-(1,2-dihydroxyethyl)-1,4a,7-trimethyl-3,4,6,8,8a,9,10,10a-octahydro-2h-phenanthrene-1-carboxylate is found in Eleutherococcus koreanus and Eleutherococcus senticosus. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl (1r,4ar,7s,8as,10as)-7-(1,2-dihydroxyethyl)-1,4a,7-trimethyl-3,4,6,8,8a,9,10,10a-octahydro-2h-phenanthrene-1-carboxylate was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 12736467). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Sumogaside (PMID: 15476312).
