DescriptionGymnosporic acid, also known as gymnospate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (2r)-2-[(1r,3ar,5ar,5br,7ar,9s,11ar,11br,13ar,13br)-9-hydroxy-3a,5a,5b,8,8,11a-hexamethyl-hexadecahydrocyclopenta[a]chrysen-1-yl]propanoic acid is found in Ceriops decandra and Gymnosporia wallichiana. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Gymnosporic acid.
