Description7-O-galloyltricetiflavan, also known as tricetiflavan-7-O-gallate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 5-hydroxyflavonoids. These are flavonoids that bear one hydroxyl group at the C-5 position of the flavonoid skeleton. 7-O-galloyltricetiflavan is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). 7-o-galloyltricetiflavan is found in Pithecellobium clypearia. A gallate ester obtained by the formal condensation of gallic acid with the hydroxy group at position 7 of 3',4',5',5,7-pentahydroxyflavan.
