Description | (3S)-4alpha-Isopropyl-3alpha,5beta-dihydroxy-1-[(hydroxy)methyl]-1-cyclohexen-6-one 5-[(E)-2-methyl-2-butenoate] belongs to the class of organic compounds known as menthane monoterpenoids. These are monoterpenoids with a structure based on the o-, m-, or p-menthane backbone. P-menthane consists of the cyclohexane ring with a methyl group and a (2-methyl)-propyl group at the 1 and 4 ring position, respectively. The o- and m- menthanes are much rarer, and presumably arise by alkyl migration of p-menthanes. (1r,5s,6s)-5-hydroxy-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-isopropyl-2-oxocyclohex-3-en-1-yl (2e)-2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Sphaeranthus suaveolens. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (3S)-4alpha-Isopropyl-3alpha,5beta-dihydroxy-1-[(hydroxy)methyl]-1-cyclohexen-6-one 5-[(E)-2-methyl-2-butenoate]. |
