Description | 6-(6-{3,4-Dihydroxy-3a,4,5-trimethyl-hexahydrofuro[2,3-b]furan-2-yl}hexa-1,3,5-trien-1-yl)-4-methoxy-5-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furofurans. These are organic compounds containing a two furan rings fused to each other. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. 6-(6-{3,4-dihydroxy-3a,4,5-trimethyl-tetrahydrofuro[2,3-b]furan-2-yl}hexa-1,3,5-trien-1-yl)-4-methoxy-5-methylpyran-2-one is found in Metapochonia bulbillosa. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-(6-{3,4-dihydroxy-3a,4,5-trimethyl-hexahydrofuro[2,3-b]furan-2-yl}hexa-1,3,5-trien-1-yl)-4-methoxy-5-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one. |
