| Description | Cardenagenin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tetrahydroxy bile acids, alcohols and derivatives. These are prenol lipids structurally characterized by a bile acid or alcohol which bears four hydroxyl groups. (1r,3ar,3br,7s,9ar,9bs,11ar)-1-[(2s)-3-hydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-9a,11a-dimethyl-1h,2h,3h,3bh,4h,6h,7h,8h,9h,9bh,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene-2,3a,7-triol is found in Beaucarnea hookeri. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Cardenagenin. |
