These are steroids with a structure based on the ergostane skeleton, which arises from the methylation of cholestane at the 24-position. Thus, 9-oxo-9,11-seco-campest-5-en-3beta,11-diol is considered to be a sterol. (2s,6s,8as)-2-[(1s,2r,3r)-3-[(2r,5r)-5,6-dimethylheptan-2-yl]-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-methylcyclopentyl]-6-hydroxy-8a-methyl-2,3,5,6,7,8-hexahydronaphthalen-1-one is found in Sinularia leptoclados. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 9-oxo-9,11-seco-campest-5-en-3beta,11-diol. |
