Description3-(2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-N-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]prop-2-enimidic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cinnamic acid amides. These are amides of cinnamic acids. Cinnamic acid is an aromatic compound containing a benzene and a carboxylic acid group forming 3-phenylprop-2-enoic acid. 3-(2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-n-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]prop-2-enimidic acid is found in Zanthoxylum armatum. 3-(2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-N-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]prop-2-enimidic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
