Common Namemethyl (1s,4as,8s,8as)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,8h,8ah-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate
DescriptionMethyl (1S,4aS,8S,8aS)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1H,4aH,5H,6H,8H,8aH-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydrolyzable tannins. These are tannins with a structure characterized by either of the following models. In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. methyl (1s,4as,8s,8as)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,8h,8ah-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate is found in Gentiana pyrenaica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl (1S,4aS,8S,8aS)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1H,4aH,5H,6H,8H,8aH-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate.
