These are steroid lactones containing a pyran-2-one moiety linked to the C17 atom of a cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene derivative. (1r,2s,4r,5r,6r,7r,10s,11s,14s,16r)-5-(acetyloxy)-7,11-dimethyl-6-(6-oxopyran-3-yl)-3-oxapentacyclo[8.8.0.0²,⁴.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]octadecan-14-yl 1-methyl butanedioate is found in Bufo gargarizans. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,2S,4R,5R,6S,7R,10S,11S,14S,16R)-5-(acetyloxy)-7,11-dimethyl-6-(2-oxo-2H-pyran-5-yl)-3-oxapentacyclo[8.8.0.0²,⁴.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]Octadecan-14-yl 1-methyl butanedioate.
