Description(3-Hydroxy-1,2-dimethyl-6-oxocyclohexyl)(5-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)methyl 2-methylbut-2-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene lactones. (3-hydroxy-1,2-dimethyl-6-oxocyclohexyl)(5-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-oxo-5h-furan-3-yl)methyl 2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Petasites japonicus. These are prenol lipids containing a lactone ring (3-hydroxy-1,2-dimethyl-6-oxocyclohexyl)(5-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)methyl 2-methylbut-2-enoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
