| Description | 14-(Acetyloxy)-6-(5-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)-10-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)-7,9,11,15-tetramethyl-3,17-dioxapentacyclo[9.6.1.0²,⁹.0⁴,⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁸]Octadec-7-en-12-yl 2-methylbut-2-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as limonoids. These are highly oxygenated, modified terpenoids with a prototypical structure either containing or derived from a precursor with a 4,4,8-trimethyl-17-furanylsteroid skeleton. All naturally occurring citrus limonoids contain a furan ring attached to the D-ring, at C-17, as well as oxygen containing functional groups at C-3, C-4, C-7, C-16 and C-17. 14-(acetyloxy)-6-(5-hydroxy-2-oxo-5h-furan-3-yl)-10-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)-7,9,11,15-tetramethyl-3,17-dioxapentacyclo[9.6.1.0²,⁹.0⁴,⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁸]octadec-7-en-12-yl 2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Azadirachta indica and Melia dubia. 14-(Acetyloxy)-6-(5-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)-10-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)-7,9,11,15-tetramethyl-3,17-dioxapentacyclo[9.6.1.0²,⁹.0⁴,⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁸]Octadec-7-en-12-yl 2-methylbut-2-enoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
