Description3-O-Galloyl-D-galacto-hexaric acid 1,4-lactone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as galloyl esters. These are organic compounds that contain an ester derivative of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid. (s)-hydroxy[(2s,3r,4r)-4-hydroxy-5-oxo-3-(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)oxolan-2-yl]acetic acid is found in Phyllanthus emblica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-O-Galloyl-D-galacto-hexaric acid 1,4-lactone.
