Description19-Epi-Cathenamine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as yohimbine alkaloids. These are alkaloids containing the pentacyclic yohimban skeleton. The Yohimbinoid alkaloids contain a carbocyclic ring E arising through C-17 to C-18 bond formation in a corynantheine precursor. 19-Epi-Cathenamine is a primary metabolite. Primary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically essential metabolites. They are directly involved in an organism’s growth, development or reproduction. 19-epi-cathenamine is found in Catharanthus roseus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 19-epi-Cathenamine.
