Description3-Pentadecylphenol, also known as cyclogallipharaol or tetrahydro-anacardol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 1-hydroxy-4-unsubstituted benzenoids. These are phenols that are unsubstituted at the 4-position. 3-Pentadecylphenol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, 3-Pentadecylphenol has been detected, but not quantified in, nuts. 3-pentadecylphenol is found in Anacardium occidentale, Ginkgo biloba, Schistochila appendiculata and Tapirira obtusa. This could make 3-pentadecylphenol a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
