Natural Product Identification
Common Name2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one
Description5-Hydroxy-7,3',4'-trimethoxy-6-C-methylflavanone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, 5-hydroxy-7,3',4'-trimethoxy-6-C-methylflavanone is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5-Hydroxy-7,3',4'-trimethoxy-6-C-methylflavanone is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
