DescriptionConvolvulanic acid B, also known as convolvulanate b, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as m-phthalic acid and derivatives. These are aromatic compounds containing a benzene ring bearing a carboxylic acid group at ring carbon atoms 1 and 2. 7-methoxy-6-methyl-1-oxo-3h-2-benzofuran-4-carboxylic acid is found in Diaporthe convolvuli. Convolvulanic acid B is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
