Description | Chloroambrosin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ambrosanolides and secoambrosanolides. These are sesquiterpene lactones from the Ambrosia family, with a backbone derivative of azuleno[6,5-b]furan-2-one (ambrosanolides) or azuleno[4,5-b]furan-2-one (secoambrosanolides). (3as,6s,6ar,9ar,9br)-8-chloro-6,9a-dimethyl-3-methylidene-3ah,4h,5h,6h,6ah,9bh-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-2,9-dione is found in Ambrosia maritima. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Chloroambrosin. |
