Description2-Methyl-6-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[4-(3-hydroxybutyl)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl]oxy}oxan-2-yl)methoxy]oxane-3,4,5-triol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. 2-{[4-(3-hydroxybutyl)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl]oxy}-6-{[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]methyl}oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Sedum sarmentosum. 2-Methyl-6-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[4-(3-hydroxybutyl)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl]oxy}oxan-2-yl)methoxy]oxane-3,4,5-triol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
