DescriptionLipedoside A-I belongs to the class of organic compounds known as coumaric acid esters. These are aromatic compounds containing an ester derivative of coumaric acid. (2r,3r,4r,5r,6r)-6-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Cistanche tubulosa, Ligustrum pricei and Syringa persica. (2r,3r,4r,5r,6r)-6-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 12475266). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Lipedoside A-I (PMID: 29146317).
