These are o-acylated derivatives of salicylic acid. 10-[(4-amino-5-hydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]-8-ethyl-1,6,11-trihydroxy-9,10-dihydrotetracene-5,12-dione is found in Nonomuraea roseoviolacea. 7-[(4-Amino-5-hydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]-9-ethyl-4,6,11-trihydroxy-5,7,8,12-tetrahydrotetracene-5,12-dione is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
