Description1-{3-[(3-Acetyl-2,4,6-trihydroxy-5-methylphenyl)methyl]-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxy-5-methylphenyl}butan-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diphenylmethanes. Diphenylmethanes are compounds containing a diphenylmethane moiety, which consists of a methane wherein two hydrogen atoms are replaced by two phenyl groups. 1-{3-[(3-acetyl-2,4,6-trihydroxy-5-methylphenyl)methyl]-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxy-5-methylphenyl}butan-1-one is found in Dryopteris hawaiiensis. 1-{3-[(3-Acetyl-2,4,6-trihydroxy-5-methylphenyl)methyl]-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxy-5-methylphenyl}butan-1-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
