These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. 8-(5,5-dimethyl-2-oxofuran-3-yl)-7-methoxy-2-phenylchromen-4-one is found in Tephrosia nubica and Tephrosia purpurea. 8-(5,5-Dimethyl-2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)-7-methoxy-2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
