Natural Product Identification
Common Name2-[(8r,8ar)-8,8a-dimethyl-4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3h-naphthalen-2-yl]propan-1-ol
DescriptionIsovalencenol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as eremophilane, 8,9-secoeremophilane and furoeremophilane sesquiterpenoids. These are sesquiterpenoids with a structure based either on the eremophilane skeleton, its 8,9-seco derivative, or the furoeremophilane skeleton. Eremophilanes have been shown to be derived from eudesmanes by migration of the methyl group at C-10 to C-5. 2-[(8r,8ar)-8,8a-dimethyl-4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3h-naphthalen-2-yl]propan-1-ol is found in Chrysopogon zizanioides. 2-[(8r,8ar)-8,8a-dimethyl-4,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3h-naphthalen-2-yl]propan-1-ol was first documented in 2010 (PMID: 21047007). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Isovalencenol (PMID: 25531789) (PMID: 22474964).
