DescriptionStachybotrydial, also known as mer NF5003F, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzofurans. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to a furan. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. (2r,2'r,4'as,6'r,8'as)-4,6'-dihydroxy-2',5',5',8'a-tetramethyl-3',4',4'a,6',7',8'-hexahydro-2'h,3h-spiro[1-benzofuran-2,1'-naphthalene]-6,7-dicarbaldehyde is found in Stachybotrys cylindrospora and Stachybotrys nephrospora. (2r,2'r,4'as,6'r,8'as)-4,6'-dihydroxy-2',5',5',8'a-tetramethyl-3',4',4'a,6',7',8'-hexahydro-2'h,3h-spiro[1-benzofuran-2,1'-naphthalene]-6,7-dicarbaldehyde was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15549667). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Stachybotrydial (PMID: 34361605) (PMID: 25087962) (PMID: 18057696) (PMID: 15882970).
