Description2-{4-[4-(3,5-Dimethoxy-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-hexahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as lignan glycosides. These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing a carbohydrate component glycosidically linked to a lignan moiety. They include 1-aryltetralin lactones. 2-{4-[4-(3,5-dimethoxy-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-tetrahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Plocama calabrica and Salvadora persica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2-{4-[4-(3,5-dimethoxy-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-hexahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol.
