Common Name3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5r,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one
DescriptionCamelliaside c belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Thus, camelliaside c is considered to be a flavonoid. 3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5r,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one is found in Camellia sinensis and Meconopsis quintuplinervia. 3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5r,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one was first documented in 2012 (PMID: 22474941). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Camelliaside c.
