Description12-Hydroxy-Scabrolide A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene lactones. These are prenol lipids containing a lactone ring. (1s,4s,10r,11s,13r,16s)-1,11-dihydroxy-11-methyl-4-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-14-oxatetracyclo[8.5.1.0²,⁸.0¹³,¹⁶]hexadec-2(8)-ene-6,9,15-trione is found in Sinularia maxima. (1s,4s,10r,11s,13r,16s)-1,11-dihydroxy-11-methyl-4-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-14-oxatetracyclo[8.5.1.0²,⁸.0¹³,¹⁶]hexadec-2(8)-ene-6,9,15-trione was first documented in 2013 (PMID: 23200246). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 12-Hydroxy-Scabrolide A.
