| Description | Pachanol D belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthopyrans. Naphthopyrans are compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 6 membered-ring non-aromatic ring with five carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. (1r,2r,5r,7s,10s,11r,15s,20s)-7,19-dihydroxy-2,6,6,10,17,17-hexamethyl-22-oxahexacyclo[18.2.2.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰.0¹⁵,²⁰]tetracos-13-en-21-one is found in Stenocereus dumortieri. (1r,2r,5r,7s,10s,11r,15s,20s)-7,19-dihydroxy-2,6,6,10,17,17-hexamethyl-22-oxahexacyclo[18.2.2.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰.0¹⁵,²⁰]tetracos-13-en-21-one was first documented in 2012 (PMID: 22704889). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pachanol D. |
