Description11-(Hydroxymethyl)-2,2,9-trimethyl-10-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]-2,12-dihydro-1,7-dioxatetraphen-12-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyranoxanthones. These are organic aromatic compounds containing a pyran or a hydrogenated derivative fused to a xanthone ring system. 11-(hydroxymethyl)-2,2,9-trimethyl-10-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]-1,7-dioxatetraphen-12-one is found in Aspergillus striatus. 11-(Hydroxymethyl)-2,2,9-trimethyl-10-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]-2,12-dihydro-1,7-dioxatetraphen-12-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
