These are fatty acids with a chain that carries a halogen atom (Cl,F,I,Br). (2r,3s,4s)-5-fluoro-2,3,4-trihydroxypentanoic acid is found in Streptomyces asterosporus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2R,3S,4S)-5-Fluoro-2,3,4-trihydroxypentanoic acid.
