Common Namecamphane
DescriptionBornane, also known as camphane, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as bicyclic monoterpenoids. These are monoterpenoids containing exactly 2 rings, which are fused to each other. Thus, bornane is considered to be an isoprenoid lipid molecule. camphane is found in Artemisia adamsii, Artemisia halophila, Artemisia rubripes and Ferula sinaica. Bornane is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
