DescriptionErythroskyrin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furofurans. These are organic compounds containing a two furan rings fused to each other. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. (5s)-3-[(2e,4e,6e,8e,10e)-11-[(2s,3r,3ar,5r,6ar)-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-hexahydrofuro[3,2-b]furan-2-yl]-1-hydroxyundeca-2,4,6,8,10-pentaen-1-ylidene]-5-isopropyl-1-methylpyrrolidine-2,4-dione is found in Talaromyces islandicus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Erythroskyrin.
