These are organic compounds containing the thiol functional group linked to an alkyl chain. 2-{[2-(5,11-dihydroxy-3a,3b,6,6,9a-pentamethyl-7-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-dodecahydro-1h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-1-yl)-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Panax ginseng. 2-Ethyl-1-hexanethiol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
