These are steroids containing ergosta-5,7,22-trien-3beta-ol or a derivative thereof, which is based on the 3beta-hydroxylated ergostane skeleton. 2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-6-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-8-[5-methyl-2-(prop-1-en-2-yl)hex-4-en-1-yl]-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Sophora flavescens. 2-(2,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-6-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-8-[5-methyl-2-(prop-1-en-2-yl)hex-4-en-1-yl]-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
