DescriptionLyaloside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. methyl (4s,5r,6s)-5-ethenyl-4-{9h-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-ylmethyl}-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,6-dihydro-4h-pyran-3-carboxylate is found in Pauridiantha paucinervis, Psychotria suterella and Uncaria tomentosa. methyl (4s,5r,6s)-5-ethenyl-4-{9h-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-ylmethyl}-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,6-dihydro-4h-pyran-3-carboxylate was first documented in 2015 (PMID: 26043882). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Lyaloside (PMID: 31783430) (PMID: 30875889).
