| Description | Guttiferone G belongs to the class of organic compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. These are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. (1r,5r,6s,7r)-3-[(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)(hydroxy)methylidene]-7-[(2e)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]-1,5,6-tris(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-2,4,9-trione is found in Garcinia macrophylla. (1r,5r,6s,7r)-3-[(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)(hydroxy)methylidene]-7-[(2e)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]-1,5,6-tris(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-2,4,9-trione was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 14598218). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Guttiferone G (PMID: 17516596). |
