Common Name5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1λ⁴-chromen-1-ylium
DescriptionCyanidin 3,4'-di-O-beta-glucopyranoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as anthocyanidin-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing one anthocyanidin moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to a carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Thus, cyanidin 3,4'-di-O-beta-glucopyranoside is considered to be a flavonoid. 5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1λ⁴-chromen-1-ylium is found in Abelmoschus esculentus and Allium cepa. 5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1λ⁴-chromen-1-ylium was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 14630001). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Cyanidin 3,4'-di-O-beta-glucopyranoside.
