Description6-Amino-2-{[2-({2-[(2-amino-1-hydroxy-3-methylpentylidene)amino]-4-carboxy-1-hydroxybutylidene}amino)-1-hydroxypropylidene]amino}hexanoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as oligopeptides. These are organic compounds containing a sequence of between three and ten alpha-amino acids joined by peptide bonds. 6-amino-2-{[2-({2-[(2-amino-1-hydroxy-3-methylpentylidene)amino]-4-carboxy-1-hydroxybutylidene}amino)-1-hydroxypropylidene]amino}hexanoic acid is found in Phytolacca americana. 6-Amino-2-{[2-({2-[(2-amino-1-hydroxy-3-methylpentylidene)amino]-4-carboxy-1-hydroxybutylidene}amino)-1-hydroxypropylidene]amino}hexanoic acid is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
