| Description | Sampsonione I belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkyl-phenylketones. These are aromatic compounds containing a ketone substituted by one alkyl group, and a phenyl group. (1s,7s,9s,11r)-9-benzoyl-11-[(2e)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]-5-hydroxy-4,4,8,8-tetramethyl-3-(prop-1-en-2-yl)tetracyclo[7.3.1.1⁷,¹¹.0¹,⁶]tetradecane-10,12,13-trione is found in Hypericum sampsonii. (1s,7s,9s,11r)-9-benzoyl-11-[(2e)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]-5-hydroxy-4,4,8,8-tetramethyl-3-(prop-1-en-2-yl)tetracyclo[7.3.1.1⁷,¹¹.0¹,⁶]tetradecane-10,12,13-trione was first documented in 1999 (PMID: 10823216). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Sampsonione I. |
